Surprise birthday party for Maggie

On May 7, Maggie Yum (MSS ’76) and her sister Elizabeth (MSS ’82) brought tons of food from Chinatown NYC to share with their former teachers and other Maryknoll Sisters who had served in Hong Kong. The gathering was also a surprise birthday party for Maggie, organized cross-country by her Bay Area MCS/MSS friends. They sent wine, a huge box of See’s candy, and order a tiramisu cake.

Here are some photos of the event which included Srs. Teresa Leung, Jeanne Houlihan, Martha Bourne, Earnest Chung, Anastasia Lott, Joan Toomey and Ann Carol Brielmaier:

Bathroom renovation update

In late 2012, MCS class of 1967 lead a fund drive to renovate a bathroom in the Maryknoll Sisters Center (Motherhouse), to make it accessible to Sisters using wheelchair and other devices. The response of MCS and MSS alumnae was phenomenal, and we met our fundraising goal without trouble.

Here are a few shots of parts of the new bathroom:
